Exxon in Brentwood robbed at gunpoint

An armed man robbed the Exxon station at 116 Franklin Road in downtown Brentwood shortly after 5 a.m. today, and left with an undetermined amount of cash. The suspect remains at large after fleeing the gas station north on foot.

The suspect is a black male believed to be in his mid-20s, is about 5’10” in height and weighs about 185 pounds, said Assistant Police Chief Tommy Walsh. The suspect was wearing an orange hoodie sweatshirt and blue jeans at the time of the robbery. He wore a dark-colored bandanna over his face.

The store’s clerk was not injured, Walsh said.

“We’re thankful for that,” he said.

It was only the second armed robbery to occur in Brentwood this year, Walsh said. No other criminal activity related to this incident is believed to have occurred in the area, he said.
