Field set for District 11-AAA softball

Ravenwood and Independence have been installed as the favorites in the District 11-AAA softball tournament set to begin Monday at Crockett Park in Brentwood.

The Lady Raptors captured the regular season title with an undefeated district run, while Independence’s second place finish also gained the Lady Eagles a first round bye.

The tournament kicks off Monday afternoon at 5 p.m. with third seed Franklin facing sixth seed Hillsboro and fourth seed Centennial facing fifth seed Brentwood. The winner of the Franklin-Hillsboro game will face Independence at 6:30 p.m., while the Centennial-Brentwood winner catches Ravenwood at the same time.

Tuesday is dedicated to loser’s bracket competition, with the loser of the Franklin-Hillsboro game facing the loser of Ravenwood’s first contest. The loser of the Centennial-Brentwood game will face the loser of Independence’s first contest. Both games are scheduled for a 5 p.m. start and the losers are eliminated from the field.

Wednesday features the finals of the winner’s bracket and another elimination game at 5 p.m., with a final elimination game at 6:30. The championship will be decided on Thursday at 5 p.m., with a second game at 6:30 if necessary.

The last two teams playing on Thursday will advance to the Region 6-AAA tournament the following week.
