Delight in culinary treats at 'Eat the Street,' May 10

Food trucks aim to please palates at 'Eat the Street' festival benefitting the 21st Drug Court on Friday, May 10.

No matter your taste, the 2nd Annual Eat the Street Food Truck Festival benefiting the 21st Drug Court aims to satisfy your taste buds Friday, May 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. in downtown Franklin.
The food truck festival, presented by Foundations Recovery Network, will feature 26 of the area’s most delectable culinary offerings on wheels.
Admission to Eat the Street is free, with attendees paying food vendors directly for purchases. Proceeds from the event benefit the 21st Drug Court, a treatment alternative to the 21st Judicial District of Tennessee traditional sentencing for non-violent offenders whose crimes result from drug or alcohol addiction.

In addition to noshing on street food, there will be plenty of family fun with a kid’s area and live music on the entertainment stage featuring local favorite, the Greez Monkeez.
For those wanting to extend the festival beyond the street, there will be an After Party at The Franklin Theatre that includes musical performances by singer/songwriters James Dean Hicks and Rob Crosby, a 21st Drug Court participant story, silent auction and showing of the movie, “Flight,” starring Denzel Washington. The After Party is sponsored by First State Bank.
Tickets for the VIP Reception are already sold out, though general admission tickets are available for $10 each and include a choice of popcorn or pizza and a drink. Tickets may be purchased online at or at the downtown Franklin office of Stites & Harbison LLP, 604 West Main Street.
Street closures will begin at 3 p.m. and Main Street will be closed from the Public Square to Five Points, as well as Fourth Avenue South to the entrance of the parking garage and Fourth Avenue North to its intersection with Bridge Street.
