Police find marijuana operation in Franklin home

A Franklin couple remains in custody today after police discovered a substantial amount of marijuana growing inside of their home.

At 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, police were summoned to investigate an argument between neighbors outside of 1152 Hunters Chase Drive following a reported explosion, later determined to have been fireworks. When making contact with the residents at that home, officers detected an overwhelming odor of marijuana. Inside, officers discovered an elaborate marijuana growing operation that included special lighting and irrigation.

The operation was dismantled by Franklin Narcotics and vice detectives who are currently sorting and weighing evidence in this case. Approximately 50 plants were seized, with an estimated street value in excess of $5,000.

The suspects, Todd and Tiffiny Wells, are charged with manufacture/delivery of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both remain behind bars on a $75,000 bond and are expected in court on or before May 23, 2013.
