Sheriff's office’s Dobbins honored as jail administrator of the year

Williamson County Sheriff Jeff Long and Chief Deputy Dusty Rhoades congratulated jail administrator Captain Mike Dobbins on his award as Jail Administrator of the Year for 2013.

The award was given by the Tennessee Corrections Institute which is the state agency that sets the standards for jails and inspects them throughout the state.

“I am very proud TCI recognized Captain Dobbins and his leadership at the WCSO to make sure our detention facility not only meets but exceeds state standards and inspections for jails,” Long said. “Captain Dobbins has also taken the lead to initiate cost cutting programs that have saved our taxpayers money.”

In accepting the award, Dobbins said that he has an incredible staff who does a very difficult job every day of the year.

“I have said many times I want the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office to be the best in the state,” Long said. “Captain Dobbins is certainly a big part in making that happen.”

Captain Dobbins has been county jail administrator for 10 years.
