All ward aldermen to seek reelection in Franklin
By Skip Anderson, Managing Editor
All four of Franklin’s ward aldermen will seek to retain their positions in the city elections Oct. 22.
Ward 1 Alderman Beverly Burger, Ward 3 Alderman Michael Skinner and Ward 4 Alderman Margaret Martin have each filed the necessary paperwork with the Williamson County Election Commission to defend their seats. Although Ward 2 Alderman Dana McLendon has yet to file with the WCEC, he confirmed today that he intends to run. McLendon serves as vice mayor.
BOMA is comprised by the mayor and eight aldermen, four of whom represent specific wards throughout the city and four who serve at-large. Each group serves four-year terms and are voted upon in staggered elections every two years. The mayoral election coincides that of the at-large aldermen.
