South Nashville LL one win from World Series

The South Nashville Little League team, whose 12 man team includes 10 Williamson County 12-year-olds, stands one win away from representing the Southeast at the 2013 Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
The team advanced to the finals by beating the favored Florida team 5-1 yesterday. Arrington’s Ben Pickman fired a six-hit, six inning performance from the mound while adding a pair of hits. Knox Preston of Grassland added a pair of RBI.
South Nashville will meet Virginia Friday night at 6 p.m. local time, with the winner advancing to the Little League World Series. Should that occur, the team will have little time to rest. The Southeast representative opens play next Thursday at 6 p.m. local time against New England.
The South Nashville team includes Brentwood residents Blake Kirchenbauer, Tanner Morgan and Zane Denton, Franklin residents Connor Smith, Robert Hassell, and Trae McElmore. Ben Pickman is from Arrington, Blake Money and Knox Preston are from Grassland, Chris McElvain calls Thompson Station home.
