Obituary: Marilyn Virginia Short Hunter

Marilyn Virginia Short Hunter, 78, of Franklin, Tenn., died at home Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013. Mrs. Hunter was born April 19, 1935.

The daughter of Judge James and Bonnie Short, she lived in Williamson County all her life. Mrs.Hunter is survived by her husband Floyd Hunter. They were married 60 years. She is preceded in death by her son Jeff, who died in June 2013.

Mrs. Hunter is survived by her daughter Allyson (John) Ordung, of Franklin; sons, Chris (Vicky) Hunter of Columbia, Tenn., and Farley (Ron) Hunter of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Sam, Grace and Caleb Ordung, and Dustin and Alex Hunter.

Mrs. Hunter is also survived by sisters Barbara Haskew, of Chattanooga, and Joan Short, of New York.

Virginia was an excellent student, PTA member, Girl Scout Leader, business woman and good friend. Above all, she loved her husband, children and grandchildren, and we will miss her.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. Jim Taylor officiated. Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Family and friends served as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are by Williamson Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
