Sports: Tuesday Tune-up

It’s only Tuesdays and the week is week is already overloaded.

Five time state volleyball champ Page continued a tradition of playing extremely difficult pre-season contests to prepare for the tough district competition ahead.  On Monday, the Lady Patriots dropped a two-game set to Siegel (10-25, 6-25) despite Ashton Peck’s 7 digs.  Indy also notched a two game sweep (20-25, 21-25).

More volleyball action is on tap today as Ravenwood hosts Ensworth @ 5 p.m., Franklin faces Riverdale on the road on Aug. 21 at 6 p.m.

The South Nashville Little League sits just two wins away from playing for the United States Baseball Championship.  The squad, made up of  a majority of  Williamson County residents, lost their opening to Williamsport, PA before storming back to with a pair of crucial contests advancing them to the edge of playing for a title.

Nashville gets the day off today before facing Sammamish, Washington in an elimination game tomorrow.

The high school football season is barely 72-hours away and anticipation is growing.
