Operation Finally Home builds new home in Arrington


Two-year-old Brooks Van Dorston is eager to get the foundation dug out for his new home as Daryl Walny with Carbine & Associates; Juliet DePina with LP Buildong Prodcuts; Abby, and U.S. Air Force SSgt. Luke Van Dorston; Rep. Glen Casada; James Carbine, principal of Carbine & Associates; Sen. Jack Johnson and Co. Commissioner Lew Green join representatives from Operation Finally Home, an organization that builds homes for America's war wounded, and others to break ground on a home in The Village at King's Chapel Community in Arrington. 

SSgt Van Dorston is a highly decorated combat veteran with deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq. He flew more than 140 combat missions and was involved in more tha 64 direct action raids. In 2011 he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He had surgery and treatments and is being monitored for reoccurance. Projected move in date for the Van Dorston family is Spring 2014.
