Soccer: Brentwood Franklin Indy advance in 11-AAA action

The District 11-AAA soccer tournament field is down to four after Brentwood, Franklin and Independence all rolled to shut-out victories last night.
Franklin had little trouble, shutting down Dickson County 9-0 on the strength of two goals each from Josie Deere, Kat Hassell, Hannah Hewlett and Meredith Slessman.  Brentwood posted a 4-0 win over Centennial and Independence shut-out neighbor Summit 3-0.
All three losers saw their seasons end, while the winners play another elimination game tonight.
Brentwood faces regular season champ Ravenwood at 6 p.m. at Cheek Park at Franklin High School, while the Rebels will play Indy at 8 p.m. on the same field.  The two winners will play Thursday for the district title on the same field.
As the regular season champ, Ravenwood is assured a trip to the regional tournament next week.  If the Raptors make the district finals, both teams in that game will advance.  If Independence beats Ravenwood and advances, only the winner of Thursday night’s game will advance with Ravenwood.
