Some volleyball teams will see end of season today

After a long, grinding season, volleyball will end for several teams today, while others will continue on to Thursday’s sectionals.

District 12-AA champion and regional favorite Page got a tough draw, having to travel to Hickman County for the regional tournament tonight.  The Lady Patriots will open with District 11-AA member Creek Wood and, with a win, could advance to meet the winner of the Hickman County versus CPA contest.  The final two in the regional competition advance to Thursday night’s sectional event.

District 12-AAA tourney champ Brentwood hosts the regional tournament this year, opening with District 11-AAA runner-up McGavock this evening.  Regular season champ Ravenwood, who took the season title on a tie-breaker, faces undefeated Overton, the top team out of the Nashville district.  An expected all-Williamson County finals is expected, with the competitors in the finals advancing to Thursday’s sectionals.

DIVISION II-A
BGA knocked out Zion Christian in three sets Saturday night before falling in four games to Knoxville Webb to take the East/Middle Region runner-up spot or 2013.  The Lady Wildcats will host the third seeded team from the West Region Saturday night at 7 p.m. with the winner advancing to the Division II-A State Championship Tournament.
