Page, Ravenwood take regional titles; soccer continues

Page rolled over Creek Wood in three games, then sat CPA down for the second time in a week to capture the Region 6-AA volleyball title last night at Hickman County High School in Centerville.
Senior Niki Pewett had 20 kills, 43 assists and 7 digs in the two games, being named tournament MVP.  She was joined on the all-tournament team by Alyssa Casillas and Ashton Peck.  Page will host a sectional event Thursday night, with the winner advancing to the state tournament.

Ravenwood dispensed with McGavock in three easy games and then did the same to arch rival Brentwood to take the Region 6-AAA title.  Tournament MVP Kat Hutson led the Raptors and was joined on the all tournament team by Santana Patterson, Payton Logan and Sophia Serino.
Brentwood’s Hunter Thompson, Lil Schwarz and Piper Cleveland were also named to the all tournament team.
Ravenwood will be at home Thursday night against Rossview, while Brentwood will have to travel to Portland for their sectional contests.  The winners of each advance to the state tournament.
In soccer, Ravenwood and Franklin will meet for the Region 6-AAA title Thursday night after Ravenwood knocked out Brentwood and Franklin ended the season for Independence.
Also advancing was Fairview, with an impressive 8-3 win over Columbia Academy last night.  Morgan Mooney had four goals for the Lady Yellow Jackets, who will play Montgomery Central at Creek Wood Thursday night for the Region 6-AA championship.
