Seniors learn social media at Fifty Forward College Grove

FiftyForward College Grove has scheduled a Social Media Computer Class for the first three Wednesdays in November, from 10 until 11 a.m.

The class will be an introduction to Pinterest, Twitter, and Facebook, and will demonstrate how to create accounts in these networking sites as well as how to navigate them. Students will learn how to share photos, join in the family buzz, connect with old friends and perhaps make new ones.

Class members are invited to bring their laptop computers and follow along using the Center’s wireless Internet. Instructor Cheri Barlow will also project the information on screen for those without laptops who want to learn the information to use at home later.

Cheri Barlow has been teaching computer and Internet classes for over 15 years. She also consults with companies to improve their websites, ELearning and social media campaigns.

“We are delighted to welcome Cheri as an instructor and to be able to offer our members the opportunity to explore these Internet sites on home turf,” noted Sarah Stephens, director of FiftyForward College Grove.

The Social Media Computer Classes will be held on Wednesdays, Nov. 6, 13 and 20. The class is free to members and $10 for non-members.

FiftyForward College Grove is located at 8607 Horton Highway in College Grove.
