Obituary: Gertha P. MollieAkin

Gertha P. “Mollie”Akin, of Thompson’s Station, Tenn. died Nov. 8, 2013. She was born in Hickman County, Tenn. to the late Lon D. and Hattie Barnhill Sullivan. 

 
She retired from Lasko as a quality control inspector and was a member of Thompson’s Station Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Akin and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by son, Gregory Akin of Thompson’s Station, Tenn,; sister, Wilma Sullivan of Franklin, Tenn,; special nieces, Deborah Christiansen and Cheryl Buhr and a host of loving nieces and nephews; and special caregiver Jo Ellen VanCarnant. 
 
Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, 2013 at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Mike Williams officiating. Memorials may be made to Thompson’s Station Church of Christ, Burwood Church of Christ or to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Grace Healthcare. 
 
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 3009 Columbia Ave. 615-794-2289, www.williamsonmemorial.com.
