Hall of Champion games open basketball season

High school basketball got started  last night with Hall of Champion games for both girls and boys squads as a warm-up for the regular season.
Boys’ Games
@BGA 57 Franklin 37
The Wildcats blew open  a tight game with a 20-5 run in the third quarter to spoil Jamie Wilson’s debut as the new Rebel coach, 57-37.  BGA got 19 points from Nathan Moran with Daniel Brown adding 10.  Franklin was led by Matt Hargreaves’ 12 points.
@Brentwood 80 Shelbyville 48
Preseason District 11-AAA favorite Brentwood built a 20-point half-time lead behind the scoring of Grant Teichmann (16), Andy Schumpert (13) and Jacob Adcock (13) on the way to beating Shelbyville 80-48.  The Bruins had 11 pointers in the contest.
Ravenwood 69 Hunters Lane 64
Matthew Hailey scored 23 points, including four three pointers, and Perry Cooper added 13 more as the Raptors pulled out a tight 69-64 win over Nashville’s Hunters Lane.
@Summit 64 Coffee County 62
Summit erased a four point deficit in the final quarter to open the season with a 64-62 win over Coffee County.  The Spartans got 20 points from Damonte Williams and 10 from Grant Robinson and John Carter.
@Brentwood Academy 77 Aaron Academy 56
The Eagles jumped to a 46-27 half-time lead then coasted to final buzzer in a 77-56 win over Aaron Academy.  Jeremiah Oastsvall led BA with 20 points with double digit scoring support from Tyler McNair (16) and Ed Wilks (13).
@Lincoln County 60 Page 46
Dylan White fired in 20 points to keep Page close, but a strong second half handed Lincoln County a 60-46 win.  Stewart Ringstaff had 9 points on the night, including a three-pointer.
Girls’ games
@Brentwood 44 Shelbyville 34
The Lady Bruins, preseason favorites in District 11-AAA, broke out to an early lead, defeating Shelbyville 44-34.  Olivia Shealy (13) and Jenny Roy (10) lead the scoring for Brentwood.
Franklin 49 @BGA 33
Ten Lady Rebels added points to the final total as Franklin stopped BGA 49-33.  Angela McPeek had 13 for Franklin, while Allison Cowie led BGA with 12.
@Brentwood Academy 71 Nashville Christian 38
Brentwood Academy added 24 points to its halftime lead to blast Nashville Christian 71-38.  Eleven Lady Eagles scored on the night, including Anna Stephens (14), Maren Kreid (11) and Sydni Harvey (10).
Hunters Lane 37 @Ravenwood 33
A strong fourth quarter pushed Hunters Lane past Ravenwood 37-33 last night.  Jaycee Arnette (16) and Colleen Leyrer (10) carried the bulk of the offensive load for the Lady Raptors.
@Lincoln County 59 Page 10
The Lady Patriots struggled dramatically in the middle quarters, dropping their opener on the road to Lincoln County 59-10.
