Obituary: Hoyt Ray Reed
Hoyt Ray Reed, age 70 of Franklin, Tenn., passed away Nov. 15, 2013. Reed worked in the automotive repair industry for 40 years. For the last 16 years, he was the owner and operator of Reed’s Auto Service & Quick Lube in Franklin. He sold the business in 2007 to retire and spend time with his family.
He was preceded in death by parents, William and Doris Underwood Reed. He is survived by wife, Marie Nixon Reed of Franklin, Tenn.; son, Michael (Hope) Reed of Huntsville, Ala.; daughter, Susan Reed (Boyd) McLean of Nolensville, Tenn.; brothers, Roger Reed of Brentwood, Tenn., Jimmy Reed of River Falls, Wis. and Ronnie Reed of Brentwood, Tenn; sisters, Barbara Jean Minton of Franklin, Tenn and Joyce Heitschmidt of Chapel Hill, Tenn.; grandchildren, Reed Chandler McLean, Ellen Renee Reed and Matthew Curtis Reed and several other loving family members.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 at Brentwood United Methodist Church, Bishop Joe Pennell officiating. Interment, Williamson Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be the Joyful Noise Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to the Brentwood United Methodist Church Youth Choir Tour Fund.
