WCPR rhythm and spirit dancers featured in December events
The Rhythm and Spirit program at the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department offers year-round dance, tumbling and cheer classes for kids of all ages. This December, the students and instructors will get into the holiday spirit by appearing in the Franklin Christmas Parade, presenting a community holiday dance performance and starting a new birthday party program for kids.
Franklin Christmas Parade
Dancers, tumblers and cheerleaders that participate in Williamson County Parks and Recreation’s Rhythm and Spirit program will be appearing in the annual Franklin Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 7. This will be the group’s first appearance in the parade, and those riding the Rhythm and Spirit float will be celebrating the season. Again this year, spectators will be encouraged to bring wrapped or unwrapped gifts to give to Graceworks and the Franklin Firefighters Association. The parade starts at 2 p.m. in downtown Franklin.
On Saturday, Dec. 14, Williamson County Parks and Recreation’s Rhythm and Spirit dancers will present their annual holiday performance at 6 p.m. at Rolling Hills Church, 1810 Columbia Ave. in Franklin.
Over 200 children participate in the Rhythm and Spirit program, and they will be presenting a fun family show called “Santa’s Workshop.”
The public is invited to attend, and tickets are on sale now at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Rd. and the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill, 2909 Commonwealth Dr. for $5 per person. Children 5 and younger will be admitted free. Tickets will also be available at the door. For more information, go to www.wcparksandrec.com.
