Tough night! Indy, Franklin, Fairview all fall

Tuesday night was not kind to Williamson County basketball teams as the girls and boys teams from Independence, Franklin and Fairview dropped road games.
At Overton 63, Independence 58 (OT)
Independence let a 12 point half-time lead slip away and Overton outscored the Eagles 13-8 in overtime to take a 63-58 win in Nashville.  Deion Simms scored 19 and Finis Stribling added 11 as independence closed out a very strong pre-district schedule.
At Blackman 58, Franklin 38
Franklin could not overcome a smothering Blaze defense, trailing 22-2 at the end of the first quarter, falling 58-38 on the road.  Joe Critchlow led the Rebels in scoring with 12 points.
At Creekwood 83, Fairview 55
Trevin Beique’s 18 points led nine Fairview players in scoring but it was not enough to overcome  a 37-point third quarter by Creekwood, as the Yellow Jackets fell 83-55.
At Overton 60, Independence 41
The Lady Eagles were outscored by 22 points in the second and third quarter, dropping a road game to Overton 60-41.  Katie Pierce scored 17 to lead all scorers and Regan Croff had 11 in the non-district contest.
At Blackman 64, Franklin 30
Nationally ranked Blackman held Franklin to just six points in each of the first three quarters on the way to posting a 64-30 win over the Lady Rebels.  Anna Patton’s 11 points topped the Franklin scoring list.
At Creekwood 52, Fairview 18
Fairview’s scoring struggles continued, with Jessie Mangrum posting 5 points to lead the Lady Jackets in scoring in a 52-18 non-district loss to Creekwood.
