Bowie Nature Center hosts holiday jazz concert Dec. 7 and 15

Bowie Nature Center will host two holiday concerts this month. Yankee Dixie, an acoustic/bluegrass group, will play Saturday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. and the jazz group Jeff Kirk and Friends will entertain Sunday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. Both groups will play inside the Nature Center. Seating is available on a first come basis.
Yankee Dixie is a quartet of jammers - John and Malinda Crockett and Jeff and Carol Wynn. The Wynns, originally from Michigan, are the Yankee part of the foursome. The Crocketts are true Dixie Southerners. The group will play a mix of tunes, including Christmas favorites.
Enjoy smooth jazz arrangements of holiday favorites, both old and new with Jeff Kirk and Friends at the Friends of Bowie Nature Park’s 9th Annual Holiday Fireside Concert on Sunday, Dec. 15.  Russ Davis and Roy Vogt will join Kirk in this special concert. Refreshments will be served immediately after the concert, courtesy of the Friends of Bowie Nature Park.
Bowie Nature Center, located inside Bowie Nature Park at 7211 Bowie Lake Road in Fairview, is a community resource.
“I hope people will come, relax and listen to these fabulous musicians and kickoff this holiday season in a great way,” said Bowie Park Program Director Jenny Herrera. For more information, visit, or email or call 615-799-5544 ext. 2.
