Victorian-era comes alive with 29th Dickens of a Christmas
It’s a 29-year-old holiday tradition in Historic Downtown Franklin to travel back in time on the second weekend in December.
Stepping back 150 years to a Main Street during the time of Charles Dickens, those festivities continue this year Dec. 14-15, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Dickens of a Christmas is a free street festival open to the public. It is expected to attract more than 50,000 visitors over the weekend.
Presented by Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant and Alexander Automotive, the two-day celebration is consistently a Top 20 event in the Southeastern, designated by the Southeastern Tourism Society.
The Heritage Foundation of Franklin and Williamson County and its division, the Downtown Franklin Association, produce the annual festival.
