Obituary: Marilyn Weaver Paulk
Marilyn Weaver Paulk, age 76 of Franklin, Tenn., formerly of West Frankfort, Ill., passed away Dec. 5, 2013. She is retired Professor Emeritus of Southern Illinois University and has spent 37 years in the teaching profession. She taught and mentored over a thousand dental hygienists located all over the country and overseas.
Paulk was preceded in death by parents, Gerald and Hazel Dew Weaver. She is survived by daughters, Lynn (Mike) Rinehart of Woodstock, Ga. and Angie (Tom) Atema of Franklin, Tenn.; grandchildren, JohnThomas and Lily Atema; sisters, LaDonne Treece of West Frankfort, Ill. and Joann Williams of Decatur, Ill.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 at Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort, Ill. Burial will follow in Masonic – Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton, Ill. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gigi’s Playhouse of Nashville - Down Syndrome Achievement Center (www.gigisplayhouse.org/nashville
