Assault suspect captured in East Tennessee now held in local jail

Franklin Horton, 44, who fled Williamson County after learning that he was wanted by Franklin police, was arrested Sunday night in East Tennessee. Earlier this week, Franklin officers picked him up from the Jefferson County jail. Charged with domestic assault, Horton is now being held on a $50,000 bond in the Williamson County jail. He is due in court on Jan. 2 at 1 p.m.
On Dec. 2, Franklin police searched for Horton after a weekend attack on his wife.

On Nov. 30 at 5 p.m., neighbors reported a disturbance between Horton and his wife. Officers responded to 1101 Downs Boulevard but found no one was found at home.

Officers who returned a short time later located the victim and observed obvious signs that she had been assaulted. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
