Christian named to Battlefield Commission
Dianne Christian, a Williamson County native and longtime realtor, has been appointed by Franklin’s Board of Mayor and Alderman to the city’s Battlefield Preservation Commission.
A longtime Franklin resident, Christian is a partner in Daniel-Christian Real Estate LLC, located at 202 Fifth Ave., South.
Christian, who has been a realtor for the past 30 years here, was unanimously approved for the three-year term.
The Battlefield commission has 18 citizen appointees who represent local preservation/heritage organizations, education, the re-enactment community, battle-related properties and the community. It serves as an advisory body to BOMA on a variety of issues surrounding the city’s decisions on Civil War battles.
In November 2014, the city will celebrate its official sesquicentennial of the Battle of Franklin.
The next scheduled meeting of the commission is at 7:30 a.m. Jan. 9 in the city’s training room.
