Brentwood receives business friendly award
Brentwood officials will be presented the 2013 Most Business-Friendly City Award today by Beacon Center of Tennessee at a 10 a.m., ceremony in the city’s commission chambers.
Of the 50 most populous cities in the state, Brentwood was ranked as the number one most ‘business friendly’ by the Beacon Center for the second year in a row.
The ranking is the result of data collected across ten factors.
The three main categories in the rankings were economic vitality, business tax burden and community allure. Each category was comprised of a number of factors including property and sales tax rates, job and population growth, median per capita income, cost of living, crime rates, high school graduations rates, and ACT scores. The full report is available online at www.beacontn.org.
According to the Beacon Center report, “Brentwood is an inviting place to do business. The City’s dedication to economic growth, low taxes, and community allure has paid off, leading it to the top of the business-friendly rankings.”
