Moore Elementary second grade students from Lorrie Grave’s class perform “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
Second grade students recited “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” to an audience of parents and friends in Lorrie Graves’ classroom.
The children also played a round of holiday games including carefully stacking Santa and Grinch-decorated holiday boxes, while blindfolded.
Children with Santa hats, reindeer antlers, jingly bells and red and green attire flooded the campus at Moore Elementary last week on the last day of school for the semester.
Students and staff at the school in Franklin Special School District sang carols and celebrated the holiday during a school wide caroling sing-along.
In the gymnasium, about 507 Moore Elementary students plus faculty and staff sang holiday carols with blended voices, large and small, accompanied by festive music played by Dean Brown, violinist and parent, Michael Alvey, music teacher and singer, and John Parks, drummer and P.E. teacher.
Lorrie Graves’ second grade class performed “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” during reader’s theatre in front of an audience of parents followed by rounds of holiday games.
The school children also collected about a thousand cans of food for Graceworks Ministries.
