Obituary: Nellie Sue Gatlin
Nellie “Sue” Gatlin, age 95 of Franklin, Tenn., died Jan. 4, 2014. Sue served our country in the U.S. Navy during WWII breaking German code while stationed in Washington, D.C. She was a teacher for over 40 years and also had a love for traveling, adventure and life. Sue is preceded in death by her husband Homer Gatlin; daughter, Connie Turvy and other brothers and sisters. She is survived by daughter Jeanne Gatlin; grandchildren, Chris (Andrea) Turvy, Summer (Keith) Turvy Sheldon and Erica Douglass; great grandchildren, Jackson and Cailyn Turvy.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014 at Franklin First United Methodist Church, Dr. Lynn Hill officiating. Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Family and friends to serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are the members of FUMC, UMW Lydia Circle. Memorials may be made to the FUMC United Methodist Women or Missions; or Honor Flight Network.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Wednesday at Franklin First United Methodist Church and from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday Williamson Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 615-794-2289. www.williamsonmemorial.com
