Ovation on Franklins planning agenda Thursday night
This site plan shows the features of Ovation, a proposed multi-use development being considered for Cool Springs.
Cool Springs’ latest proposed multi-faceted development—Ovation—located at the corner of East McEwen Drive and Carothers Parkway will receive a review by Franklin planning commissioners Thursday night.
A preliminary plat, which has staff approval with a few conditions, is on the body’s regular agenda at 7 p.m. in City Hall.
View www.ovationcoolsprings.com, to get a glimpse of the mixed-use development with its all-inclusive design of offices, a hotel, residential and retail—the first of its kind in Cool Springs.
Applicants Glenn McGhehee, of SS McEwen, LLC, the retail developer of the project, and Brian Reames, of North Carolina-based Highwoods Properties’ Nashville office, will be representing the project.
A stream located on the property has already been examined by the city’s Stormwater Appeals Board and a variance for project development has been granted, according to planning documents.
Procedurally, commissioners will consider the request for preliminary plat approval, following a city planning staff presentation, an opportunity for public comment and the applicants’ presentation.
Ovation was first unveiled last summer at the Franklin Theatre to the media followed by a private informational event for Franklin leaders.
Most recently, the $700 million development was presented to the Williamson Chamber’s Young Leadership at the Franklin Theatre.
Chamber CEO Matt Largen has estimated that at full build-out the development the development will provide 5,000-6,000 jobs.
