Archaeology research meeting this weekend

Researchers will present information about two of Williamson County’s historic natural resources during the 26th annual Current Research in Tennessee Archaeology meeting Saturday at the Ellington Agricultural Center.

Two separate poster presentations, one featuring the archaeological testing at Glass Mounds and the second entitled “A Bioarchaeological Investigation at an archaic site in Fernvale” are free and open to the public.

The CRTA annual meeting, which draws archaeologists and scholars from universities throughout the country, runs Friday and Saturday, Jan. 24 and 25 in the Ed Jones Auditorium of the center.

The meeting includes a series of presenters, whose findings about recent archaeological research in all three regions of Tennessee are noteworthy.
