Community supports Hunter Garstin

A crowd of hundreds rose to their feet during a Williamson County Chamber of Commerce meeting to applaud Garstin’s courage in his continued recovery.

Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney recognized Independence High student Hunter Garstin twice this week during community meetings to show district and community support during the student athlete’s recovery.
Garstin suffered a spinal cord injury during a wrestling match that left him recovering at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta.
Since the injury in early December, there has been an outpouring of community support for Garstin, which can be followed on Twitter @huntergarstin,  #HunterStrong and on Facebook at Prayer for Hunter Garstin, which currently has over 16,700 likes.

The WCS Board of Education held a banner in support of injured wrestler Hunter Garstin.
