District shows support for Hunter Garstin


WCS Board of Education shows support for Hunter Garstin by holding a banner labeled #hunterstrong. Ken Peterson, Janice Mills, Gary Anderson, Tim McLaughlin, Pat Anderson, Dr. Mike Looney, Cherie Hammods, Bobby Hullett, Eric Welch, Rick Wimberly, Vicki Vogt, and Mark Gregory.

Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney recognized Independence High student Hunter Garstin twice this week during community meetings to show district and community support during the student athlete’s recovery.
 
Garstin suffered a spinal cord injury during a wrestling match that left him recovering at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta.

Since the injury in early December, there has been an outpouring of community support for Garstin, which can be followed on Twitter @huntergarstin,  #HunterStrong and on Facebook at Prayer for Hunter Garstin, which currently has over 16,700 likes.
