Obituary: Elmer Lynn "Elmo" Boswell
Mr. Elmer Lynn "Elmo" Boswell, age 76 of Franklin, Tenn., died Jan. 25, 2014. Boswell was an underwriter for Home Beneficial Life Insurance Co. He also served as a past president of the Franklin Noon Rotary Club, was a Paul Harris Fellow and a singing cowboy for many years where he performed his song, "Empty Saddle" to pay tribute to the members of Rotary who passed away during the year.
He received the Bluegrass Lifetime Achievement Award from the Bluegrass Along the Harpeth organization. He was co-owner of the former BMA Records along with partners Fuller Arnold and Sam McGee.
He was preceded in death by parents Tom and Annie Lee Boswell; brothers Tommy and Frank Boswell; sister Dorothy Lee Hedgecoth; son-in-law Hal Roberts. He is survived by wife Violet Boswell; daughter Cindy Roberts; granddaughter Allison Roberts and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Chip Hunter officiating. Interment Williamson Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Howard Barton, Ron Vann, Herman Caldwell, Walt Miller, Mark and Bob Stiles, Dalton Hayes, Hoyt Edwards, Jerry Farrelly, Glen Adams and Dave Kelly. Honorary pallbearers will be Franklin Noon Rotary members. Memorials may be made to Rotary International or charity of your choice.
