Obituary: Elizabeth Cecile "Pug" Cain
Elizabeth Cecile "Pug" Cain, age 74 of New York, New York, Jan. 21, 2014. Born in Memphis, Tenn. to the late Cecil and Elizabeth Cain. She was both colorful and charismatic and a loving sister and aunt.
After working as a stewardess for Southern Airlines in the late 1950s, she married and moved to New York, calling the Big Apple home for over 40 years.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Cain May, Jeannette Cain Braswell Pounders and Mary Nell Cain Upshaw; brother, Erban Anderson Cain. She is survived by brothers, Bobby Cain of Memphis, Tenn. and Curtis Cain of Pinson, Tenn.; sisters, Catherine Cain McCarley of Memphis, Tenn., Wes Cain Hull Sweeney of Cordova, Tenn. and Billie Cain McCollum Turner of Franklin, Tenn. and numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2014 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, John Gardner officiating. Interment, Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Elizabeth Cain Memorial Fund. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 615-794-2289.
