It took two extra periods, but Franklin finally put an end to Summit’s upset plans, scoring a 61-59 victory in Spring Hill. Ben Hagaman had his best game of January, shooting for 20 points. He got help from Garrison Mathews who broke free for 17 for the Rebels. The Spartans, who hit ten 3-pointers in the game, got 19 from John Carter and 13 from Grant Robinson.
Independence 70 at Centennial 39
Independence continued on a hot streak as the District 11-AAA tournament approaches, slapping Centennial 70-39 last night on the loser’s home floor. Young Grayson Murphy poured in 28 points to lead Indy while Deion Sims (16) and Bryan Thompson (12) combined for another 28. For Centennial, Jalen McClain scored 13 and Tyrell Dodson 11.

Despite 14 points from Stewart Ringstaff and 10 from Christian Denton, the Patriots dropped a 69-52 decision to Cascade on the road.
BGA 71 at St. Cecelia 67 OT
Senior Caroline Abbott picked a great night to break the 1,000 point mark for her career, scoring 22 points in a nerve wracking 71-67 overtime victory. It was a double-double for Abbott, as she swept the boards for more than 15 rebounds. Freshman Allison Cowie had a big night, too, with 21 points and double digit rebounds. Sarah Pratt assisted with eleven points and Sarah Puryear added nine.
Independence 60 at Centennial 29
Avery Wharton (17), Katie Pierce (13) and Gabby Wiggins (11) all scored double digits in leading Independence past Centennial 60-29. Mia Esmond was the Cougars’ top scorer with nine.
