SNL favorite pulls petition for District 2 county commissioner

Former “Saturday Night Live” comedian Victoria Jackson, a newcomer to Williamson County, and resident of Cameron Farms in Thompson’s Station, is seeking signatures for her election petition to launch her candidacy for District 2 County Commissioner.

Jackson is best known for her appearances on SNL, but most recently she has been politically active with the Tea Party in Middle Tennessee. She has chosen to file her intent to run as an Independent, along with eight other office seekers, who will be on the Aug. 7 Countywide Election ballot.

Feb. 20 is the deadline for all interested candidates to turn in their petitions, which require 25 signatures from registered voters in their district.

Eighty-six individuals have shown interest through pulling and/or filing their petitions for countywide offices, judicial, or county commission seats.

The May 6 Republican Primary will determine, who will face Independent candidates in the Aug. 7 County General election.
