Ravenwood plays early BGA D-II tourney on schedule

Ravenwood’s trip to Dickson County has been moved up a bit due to impending weather.  The girl’s game will start at 5:30 p.m. with the boys to follow immediately.  Junior Varsity games have been cancelled.
At press time, all other games involving county teams are still on schedule, including the four-game night at BGA to determine who moves to the championship and consolation games in Division II-A District 2 action tomorrow.
Girl’s action takes center stage at 4 p.m. in the district semi-finals as top seed University School of Nashville takes on fourth seed St. Cecilia.  At 5:30 p.m. boys’ top seed and home standing BGA will play fourth-seeded USN.  The Lady Wildcats of BGA will play FRA at 7 p.m. in a battle of #3 and #2 seeds in girls’ competition, while the night cap at 8:30 will feature FRA against Hendersonville Christian. Winners advance to the championship games tomorrow at 6:30 (girls) and 8 p.m. (boys), while loser play in the consolations tipped off by the girls’ at 3:30 p.m. and the boys at 5 p.m.
In the other top games of the night, Independence visits Franklin in a seeding duel for next week’s District 11-AAA boys’ tournament.  The will claim the third spot in the event, to be hosted by Indy, while the loser takes home fourth.
At Summit, it is a similar seeding battle, with the Spartans hosting the Cougars.  The winner will be one position higher when the brackets are announced.
Brentwood Academy is at home tonight against Ensworth.  Both the Eagles and Lady Eagles will be looking to avenge one-score losses three weeks ago on the road.
Page is also at home tonight for the final time this season, hosting Giles County.
