Crutcher resigns at Centennial

There will be a new head boys basketball coach at Centennial High School next year following the resignation today of Lawanza Crutcher.
“Coach Crutcher stepped down today as head boys’ basketball coach at Centennial,” said Principal Dr. Leigh Webb in a prepared statement.  “We are very appreciative for his leadership over the past two years, but we are heading in a different direction with our boys’ program.
“We are very excited about the future of boys’ basketball at Centennial and this position will be posted for applications tomorrow.”
Crutcher, who came from both a high school and junior college background in the Chattanooga area, was 20-34 over at Centennial, 3-19 in District 11-AAA in his two seasons at the helm of the Cougar program.
