Nathan Moran scored 15-points, dished out eight assists and made three steals as BGA ended the season for Lausanne of Memphis 63-41 Saturday night.
The win puts the Wildcats into the semi-finals of the TSSAA Division II-A basketball championships where they will face Evangelical Christian School Thursday afternoon at 3:45 p.m.
BGA raced to a 23-13 lead after eight minutes, something coach Len McKnatt knew would be important.
“We knew physically they were a very tough team and that they were going to be athletic. It was important for us to get off to a good start and I thought we got after them and never let them get comfortable.”
Moran got plenty of scoring assistance in the win, one McKnatt called a “total team effort.” Zac Wracher tossed in 14 points, Terrell Webster 13 and Andrew Cowie netted 11 points and five rebounds.
“We need every one of them,” McKnatt said, pointing to Ronald Cleveland who did not score, but had two rebounds and an assist and to Tyler Miles. His stat sheet showed two rebounds, an assist and a blocked shot.
