Four candidates will run for election to the Brentwood City Commission in May, including three incumbents and one newcomer.

On Tuesday, May 4, three Brentwood residents will be elected to the city commission. All three candidates with expiring terms — Mark Gorman, Brentwood Mayor Rhea Little and Regina Smithson — are running for re-election to their seats, while Gina Starling Gunn also hopes for a spot on the commission.

During the municipal election, voters will pick their three favored candidates of the four, and the top three vote-getters will win a four-year term on the commission.

Every two years, the commission votes to appoint a mayor from its members, so this year, Little’s mayoral title will also expire unless he is re-elected to the board and again appointed by the commission.

To learn more about the candidates, visit their campaign websites or pages at Facebook.com/VoteMarkGorman, rhealittle.com, and Facebook.com/keepingbrentwoodontrack. Starling Gunn has not yet published a campaign site.

For those who are not registered to vote in Williamson County, the voter registration deadline for the Brentwood elections is Monday, April 5. Early voting will run from Wednesday, April 14, to Thursday, April 29.
