After 15 years, SBView shut down as communication tool

Earlier this week, Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney instructed the Williamson County Schools technology department to remove SBView, which has essentially served as a district communication tool since its establishment in 2000.

Longtime Tennessee journalist Kent Flanagan dies at 69

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Kent Flanagan, a longtime journalist and open government advocate who spent 21 years as Tennessee's bureau chief for The Associated Press, died Wednesday. He was 69.

Ten-digit dialing starts this Saturday

Beginning Saturday, Feb. 28, to complete calls made within the 615 calling area callers must dial the area code plus the telephone number, according to the Tennessee Regulatory Authority. The new dialing procedure requires callers to use either 615 or the new 629 area code, which will be assigned to new cellular or landline customers beginning March 28.

Massage parlor sting yields seven arrests, police say

An investigation led to the execution of six search warrants at two businesses and four apartments Wednesday morning in Franklin. Seven people are under arrest. Five people have been taken in and are being assisted by End Slavery Tennessee. Six vehicles and nearly $100,000 in cash was seized.

'Let's Talk Schools' breaks the ice, addresses growth, funding and more

At the first “Let’s Talk Schools” session of the year, held by the Williamson County School Board and Superintendent Mike Looney Tuesday morning, a bit of the ice that formed as a dividing barrier between constituents and newly elected board members seemed to have melted.

Torch used to thaw frozen pipes ignites mobile home fire
