Vehicle testing to resume Sept. 8, following Labor Day weekend

All vehicle emissions testing centers in Sumner, Rutherford, Wilson and Williamson counties in Middle Tennessee will close on Saturday, Sept. 5 and Monday, Sept. 7 in observance of Labor Day.

WCS sets new ACT record

For the fourth consecutive year, WCS students earned the highest ACT composite average score in the history of the district – 23.8 – just tenths of a point away from the school board’s goal of reaching a score of 24 by 2017 as stated in its strategic plan.

BOMA approves $14 million in Franklin water plant upgrades

The Franklin Board of Mayor and Alderman voted 8-0 to approve the construction required for upgrades to its 60-year old drinking water treatment plant, although the decision met opposition among Harpeth River advocates who attended the city meeting Tuesday.

Crissy Haslam praises county literacy center and celebrates its new name

The Literacy Council of Williamson County, established in 1986, will now be known as the Adult Learning Center, helping about 500 Williamson Countians a year to develop reading, learning and basic literacy skills.

Renowned teacher and community leader turns 100, honored by many

Ola Louise Beal Patton, one of Franklin’s most influential African-American women turned 100-years-old Friday in the company of dozens of family members, friends, community leaders and elected officials, who spent the day honoring her vast accomplishments.

Blue Star Flag lowered as FPD welcomes home one of their own
