Williamson County schools will be closed Wednesday, February 10 due to the snow that remains on roads across the county.

Williamson legislators to attend Chamber’s February luncheon

The event begins at 11:30 a.m. at Embassy Suites, 820 Crescent Centre Dr. in Franklin.

Commission approves half of theater funding request for middle schools

The Williamson County Commission voted Monday on a resolution approving an intent to fund $6 million for three middle school theaters, as amended from its original amount of $12 million. The partial funds would be used to construct two middle school auditoriums at Page and Heritage.

Williamson County home sales rise in January

The total number of closed home sales rose 18 percent in January 2016 in Williamson County compared to the same period last year, according to the monthly market report released this month by the Williamson County Association of Realtors (WCAR).

Board legislative committee apprehensive about voucher, religious curriculum and ACT bills

During the recent Williamson County Schools legislative meeting, the members of the committee discussed their apprehension for Senate Bill 1439 which would prohibit the state board of education from adding religious doctrine to curriculum for any grade prior to tenth grade.

A-Game president speaks out in midst of planned demonstration

Following the abrupt closure of A-Game Sportsplex Wednesday night, which led to an organized protest to take place at 5:30 p.m. Thursday evening, Gary Ivey, president of the sports facility issued a statement Thursday afternoon to address what he calls “inaccurate comments.”

Franklin Police officers manage crowd after close of A-Game

According to Lt. Charles Warner, public information officer for the Franklin Police Department, officers are assisting with crowd control Thursday after the sudden close of the A-Game Sportsplex.

"We have had several citizen and media inquiries regarding the crowd gathered at the A-Game Sportsplex, 215 Gothic Court, where the business has closed its doors," Warner said. "In anticipation of people and teams who have personal belongings inside, A-Game hired an extra duty Franklin Police Officer to stand by to ensure things remained cordial during the retrieval of those belongings."
