Franklin Early Voting

Early voting for the Republican and Democratic presidential preference primary and Williamson County Republican primary elections started Feb. 12.

The Williamson County Election Commission is reminding voters of the early voting period for the March 3, 2020, Republican and Democratic presidential preference primary and Williamson County Republican primary elections.

Voters will choose Republican and Democratic nominees for president and delegate candidates (if applicable). Republican primary voters will also choose nominees for local offices, including circuit court judge, 21st Judicial District, Division V (unexpired term); assessor of property; and sheriff (unexpired term).

Early voting began Feb. 12 at the Election Commission Office, located at 1320 West Main Street in Franklin, and the John P. Holt Brentwood Library, located at 8109 Concord Road in Brentwood, on Wednesday, Feb. 12. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. Saturday hours are from 8 a.m. to noon.

Additional early voting sites will open on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at the Fairview Recreation Center, located at 2714 Fairview Boulevard; the Longview Recreation Center in Spring Hill, located at 2909 Commonwealth Drive; and the Nolensville Recreation Center, located at 7250 Nolensville Road. Hours at these locations will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays beginning Feb. 18 and for one Saturday, Feb. 22, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Early voting will end on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at all locations.

“Early voting is extremely popular with many of our voters because it allows some flexibility to those who may be unable to cast a ballot on Election Day,” said Chad Gray, administrator of elections. “However, if you do vote on Election Day, March 3, voters may now go to any of our 25 Election Day Convenience Vote Center sites from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. regardless of your place of residence inside the county.”

The Election Commission began the transition to Election Day Convenient Vote Centers late last year after approval of the pilot project by the Tennessee General Assembly. Nearby Rutherford County was the first in the state to pilot the project in 2018 with great success.

The deadline to register to vote for this election was Monday, Feb. 3. Polls will be open on Election Day, March 3, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at any Vote Center location.
