Franklin police were summoned to the Mallory Lane Chick-fil-A shortly after 9:30 p.m. Friday after an employee discovered a loaded handgun in a men’s bathroom stall.

Chick-fil-A employees secured the weapon until officers arrived. The owner later called police and said he forgot his gun in the stall. No charges have been filed.

Parents are encouraged to talk with their children about the incident, instructing them to never touch a gun they find, to leave the area if they find one and take other children with them, and to immediately notify an adult.
