Three downtown Franklin businesses were burglarized early Friday morning, according to police, and cash appears to have been the target.
The impacted businesses include Frothy Monkey, I Love Juice Bar and Wilder Boutique. While all three businesses are currently open, they are continuing to work on repairing damage from the break-ins.
"We were robbed last night, so instead of making you lattes and eggs this morning we are dealing with broken glass and police reports. We are sad to say the least but everyone is ok," Frothy Monkey posted on social media at 9:20 this morning.
A Frothy Monkey employee confirmed that the glass front door had been smashed in, and some elements of building inside, such as the stairs, were damaged as a result of the break-in, which the employee estimated to have happened around 4 a.m. The door has already been replaced, and the owners are now just dealing with repairing "aesthetic stuff."
Franklin police reported that they are seeking information on two suspects, both Black males, and the black Honda Civic they were driving.
"Police are stepping up patrols and suggest that businesses do not leave on-premise cash overnight, especially in cash registers or safes that can be picked up and moved," police said.
