Titans-African American Heritage Society partnership

African American Heritage Society Vice President Harvey Chrisman, Titans Sales Executive Chris Weber, AAHS President Alma McLemore and Chrisman’s grandson met recently at the McLemore House regarding a partnership to sell single-game tickets for two preseason games and four regular-season tickets.

It’s hard to believe the 2019 football season has arrived, and with preseason games beginning today, there is a lot of excitement brewing over this year’s Tennessee Titans.

According to Chris Weber, Titans sales executive, new sod has been laid on the field, the team is working hard during training camp, new members are finding their niche and everyone is ready to get out on the field and win games.

The Titans’ first preseason game is today on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles. The regular season begins with the Titans on the road, in Cleveland, and the first home game of the regular season is set for Sept. 15 against the Indianapolis Colts.

In an effort to generate additional buzz about the season, the Titans are partnering with area nonprofits and will and share the proceeds from the sale of single-game tickets.

African American Heritage Society President Alma McLemore recently learned that the AAHS was invited to be one of those partners and will have the opportunity to sell single-game tickets for six Titans games. Two of the games are preseason games — Aug. 17 against the Patriots and Aug. 25 against the Steelers — and four are regular season games — Oct. 20 against the Chargers, Oct. 27 against the Buccaneers, Nov. 24 against the Jaguars and Dec. 15 against the Texans.

McLemore said she was “overwhelmed with excitement” when Weber made the call and explained the opportunity for AAHS and area Titans fans.

According to Weber, her reply was, “Let’s get this party going.”

“We’re excited to be working with nonprofits like the African American Heritage Society,” Weber said during his recent meeting at the McLemore House with McLemore and AAHS Vice President Harvey Chrisman.

According to Weber, the AAHS will receive $10 for every ticket it sells through the special online link at Simply pick the game or games and then use the promo code AAHSM.

“Just pick the ticket, use the promo code, buy the ticket and get the ticket,” said Weber. “It’s not complicated, and it’s a real quick process.”

We’ve made it a competition for the nonprofits, Weber added. The top three fundraising organizations will receive awards. First place will get two pregame field passes to either the Jaguars or Texans game, second place will get a jersey autographed by Kevin Byard and third place will get a mini helmet autographed by Taylor Lewan.

McLemore said, “If you’re planning to go to one or more games, please consider purchasing tickets through the AAHS special link.”
