Williamson County Schools released a phased plan on Friday for introducing remote learners back on campus.
If all goes well, all students who have opted for the on-campus/remote option as opposed to the WCS Online option will be back in the classroom by Monday, Aug. 31.
"The phased-in approach helps us to ensure our safety protocols can be implemented properly and that appropriate contact tracing by the health department can take place," the district announced on social media. "This approach gives us the best chance for sustained traditional/on-campus learning."

According to the plan, on Monday, Aug. 24, all elementary school students will return to campus. Sixth- through 12th-graders will remain in remote learning.
This coincides with the Franklin Special School District's return date. FSSD announced Friday all its remote learners would be in class again beginning Aug. 24.
On Friday, Aug. 28, sixth and ninth grade will return to campus. Seventh- through eighth-graders as well as older high school students will remain in remote learning until Aug. 31.
On Aug. 31, all remote learners will be on campus. WCS Online students will continue their normal schedules online without interruption.
The district shared principals will communicate further information with families next week. Additionally, should community spread of the virus worsen, the district may adjust this plan as necessary.
"We thank so many of you for sharing with us your thoughts on how we provide instruction," the announcement reads. "Please know that each decision we make is based on the most current information and our determination of how we can best safely serve our students and staff."
