Michael Jake Jacobs, obituary

Michael “Jake” Jacobs, 60, of Unionville, Tenn., died Feb. 7, 2012 in Nashville, Tenn. 

He was born in Bay City, Michigan and was a son of the late Don and Betty (Weiler) Jacobs. Mr. Jacobs was a member of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Spring Hill, Tenn. He retired after 38 years of service with General Motors where he worked at the Saginaw Gray Iron and Saturn, Spring Hill facilities and was a member of United Auto Workers Local # 1853.

Mr. Jacobs is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kate (Burke) Jacobs, Unionville, Tenn.; four children, Michael Jacobs, Unionville, Tenn., Matthew Jacobs, Unionville, Tenn., Bethany Vaughn, Shelbyville, Tenn., Colleen Casamassima, Unionville, Tenn.; five grandchildren; two brothers, Ron Jacobs, Essexville, Mich.,  Don Jacobs, Freeland, Mich.; five sisters, Pam LaMoria, Alger, Mich., Kim Jacobs, Auburn, Mich.,  Deb Jacobs, Bay City, Mich., Sandy Jacobs, Bay City, Mich., and Janet  Wrzesinski, Bay City, Mich.

Family members will also receive friends on Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, 10-11 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, Spring Hill, Tenn. with funeral services being conducted at 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. Chuck Westra officiating. Private burial services will be conducted later at Zions Hill Church Cemetery in Bedford County.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church Preschool Program, 2494 Nashville Hwy., Columbia, TN  38401.

Arrangements are by Lawrence Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. of Chapel Hill.
