BREAKING NEWS: FPD Sergeant injured in hit-and-run this morning

Shortly after 7 a.m., a Franklin Police Sergeant was injured in a hit-and-run crash. The sergeant was on patrol in a marked police car, traveling south on Royal Oaks Boulevard, when the other driver broadsided him while she was attempting to cross from one section of an apartment complex to the other. The two sections of that complex, Vierra Cool Springs, are separated by Royal Oaks Boulevard.

The suspect left the scene of the crash but was quickly apprehended by officers canvasing the area. She was turned over to the Tennessee Highway Patrol who is investigating. The Sergeant was transported to the Williamson Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Additional details will be posted as they are received.
