A Williamson County Sheriff’s Deputy and an out-of-state officer were injured this morning on I-65 while they conducted a traffic stop.
The victims, whose names have not been released according to Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Sharon Puckett, are at area hospitals with “non life threatening injuries.” The Deputy was life-flighted to Vanderbilt in Nashville and the officer was transported to Williamson Medical Center. Both the deputy and the officer were extricated from the vehicle.
“Sheriff Jeff Long is at Vanderbilt with the deputy who is undergoing testing,” she said.
A motorist struck the deputy’s vehicle after she overcorrected to try to avoid another vehicle while traveling southbound on the interstate this morning near Spring Hill.
No charges against the motorist have been filed and the Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigation Division is conducting the incident investigation, according to Puckett.
